We have some exciting opportunities available at Barking and Dagenham College. We are looking for a Curriculum Team Leader in Horizons to join our team.
You will join us on a full-time (36 hours per week) permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £47,192 - £49,876 inc. London Weighting per annum
The Curriculum Team Leader role:
The Curriculum Team Leader (CTL) will be responsible for championing teaching, learning, and assessment practices including innovative online teaching strategies, IQA work, mentoring lecturers and curriculum colleagues. The CTL will work closely with the Curriculum Manager to plan the curriculum and activity for the delivery of programmes to learners within specific course areas, ensuring an innovative and high-quality provision. As the Lead for Teaching, Learning, Assessment and Digital for a specific area the CTL will work closely with Advanced Practitioners. the CTL will lead on meaningful progression and work skills development, keeping abreast of internal and external developments in curriculum and delivery models, and support the drive to prepare learners for independence, work readiness, progression and next steps and ensure they develop employability skills.
Key Responsibilities of our CTL Horizons:
You will work with the Horizons' teams to facilitate and support strategies to personalise schemes of work, raise retention, achievement and progression of learners and promote the development and shared use of high-quality teaching and learning resources. You will liaise with Curriculum Manager and ensure the following take place, Learner Reviews, Team follow up meeting, Meet Tutor Evening, Reports, Progression events, Celebration of Achievement, etc. You will contribute to best practice meetings, research, training and development activities to innovate the High Needs provision within Horizons.
Our ideal CTL should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- You will be cert Ed/PGCE or relevant teaching/training qualification
- You will hold an appropriate level 3 subject specialism
- You will hold level 2 Literacy and Numeracy
- You will need to have teaching or training experience in SEND/High Needs
- You will be able to demonstrate your experience of mentoring individuals and / or groups
- You will be experienced of working to the Common Inspection Framework
- You will have experience of self-assessment processes, course reviews and writing development plans
- You will be experienced in working with Local Authorities and operating and managing annual review cycle.
