Reporting To: ESOL Curriculum Lead
About The Role
As an ESOL Lecturer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality education to both adult learners and 16-18 year olds. You will be responsible for teaching a range of ESOL qualifications from Pre-Entry to Level 2, as well as Functional Skills Maths at Entry 1-Entry 3. Your innovative and motivational teaching methods will inspire and engage students, helping them achieve their educational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver ESOL qualifications and Functional Skills Maths.
- Create and implement engaging and creative lesson plans.
- Manage classroom activities and ensure a positive learning environment.
- Conduct assessments and track student progress.
- Participate in curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders to enhance the learning experience.
- Support student recruitment and retention through promotional activities and events.
About You
Essential Criteria: - Education and Qualifications:
- Relevant teaching qualification.
- Minimum Level 2 Literacy & Numeracy.
- Academic qualification at Level 5 or higher.
- Work Experience:
- Expertise in ESOL and experience delivering a range of ESOL programmes.
- Experience working in a Further Education (FE) environment.
- Experience delivering to both 16-18 year olds and adults.
- Experience in assessing learners and undertaking the IQA process.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of current academic standards and quality assurance.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
- Personal Qualities:
- Commitment to student success and a positive learning environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to equality and diversity.
Desirable Criteria
- Level 4 or higher qualification as an ESOL or Literacy specialist.
- Level 3 qualification in numeracy.
- Experience delivering blended learning approaches.
- Understanding of quality initiatives in Further Education.
