Fire Risk Assessment Trainer & Assessor Location - Head office: Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, GL56 0RH. Courses will take place at Head Office, London and locations around the UK. The position will require some travel and overnight stays away. We are looking for a full-time trainer to join our busy team offering relevant and high-quality fire safety training to a variety of customers, supporting a range of courses within our portfolio. Training will be conducted at Head office and various client venues sites. There is scope to develop your own knowledge, skills and expertise in this role. Key accountabilities: Prepare and deliver training assignments with due care, skill and diligence and in accordance with current best practice Serve as the tutor for designated groups of learners across FPA courses, providing guidance and support throughout their learning journey Assess and Mark learners assessment activities, providing SMART objectives in an agreed timeframe Assist with the dissemination of new/updated information regarding training and contribute to the mentoring of other trainers Complete the preparation and administrative activities as laid out in the trainer handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and policies Assist with the supply of technical information and act as a critical friend to consultative groups Where necessary, liaise with the Client directly to deliver Service Level Agreements (SLA) and ensure the content delivered is as requested/appropriate Design, develop, and maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and qualification courses to meet industry requirements Take responsibility for your own professional growth by engaging in continuous professional development (CPD) activities Offer ongoing support to learners, ensuring a positive and effective learning experience Be part of the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) teams to support with the process of internal quality assurance Skills and experience required: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the fire safety industry or with fire and rescue services, demonstrating a deep understanding of fire safety principles and practices Prior experience in delivering training, with the ability to engage and educate diverse learner groups effectively Solid expertise in workplace fire safety, including the implementation and management of fire safety protocols within various industries Solid knowledge and experience in workplace fire safety Possession of a PTTLS or Level 3 qualification in training and education, or substantial in-house experience in delivering training courses or qualifications Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to learners at all levels Ability to adapt training materials and delivery methods to meet the evolving needs of the industry and the learners, ensuring content remains relevant and impactful A proactive approach to maintaining and enhancing personal knowledge and skills, with a commitment to ongoing professional development Experience in working collaboratively with a team, including participation in quality assurance processes and contributing to the continuous improvement of training programmes. Qualifications: A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications A recognised qualification in Fire Risk Assessment Hold an Assessor qualification or be willing to work towards obtaining one Possession of, or willingness to work towards, a third-party accreditation Desirable: Additional certifications or qualifications in advanced fire safety practices, such as NEBOSH Fire Safety or similar Familiarity with designing, delivering, or managing online training programmes using e-learning platforms Previous involvement in quality assurance processes within a training environment We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for the industry, complemented by secure knowledge and experience.
