Lecturer Events Management 0.5 FTE
The Department of Operations, Technology, Events and Hospitality Management is an ambitious, large, and diverse department within the Business School. With over 1,800 students and 65 academic staff, The Department delivers a wide range of courses covering undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and commercial programmes, including the sector-leading degree apprenticeships programme – Digital & Technology Solutions.
The Events Management team is a dynamic and well-established group of academics focusing on providing high quality teaching, research and learning across a range of programmes in the Business School.
The need for a maternity cover, has led to an exciting opportunity for you to join the team. We are looking for an academic who will deliver high quality teaching and learning across Events and International Events Management related subject areas for the foundation/degree/postgraduate programmes across the department.
This role is fractional (0.5 – Full time Equivalent) and fixed term for 1 year. We are seeking to appoint one candidate for this position.
About You
You will:
- be able to teach and provide academic leadership on our programmes and contribute to the ongoing development of these dynamic subject area including specialism in two or more of these areas: Events industry; Festivals; career development; Event Marketing; Business Events; crowd safety; entrepreneurship; Event Operations; stakeholder management.
- have experience of teaching in a higher education setting, and experience of unit/module leadership (unit/module design, unit/module management, assessment, quality assurance) is desirable.
- be student-focused in your academic practice, committed to quality, collaborative in your work and driven in your own professional development.
