Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Generalist Lecturer at HMP The Verne. This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week. Day to day duties of the role Developing and maintaining a full course file including comprehensive scheme of learning and lesson planning. Enriching learning through additional projects and broader activity beyond the qualification delivery. Differentiation of learning to meet individual learners’ needs including providing extra support for learners with LDD needs. Developing and completing ILPs and contextual statements to monitor individual learner progress. Required skills and qualifications A Degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work. Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies Excellent team working, communication and interpersonal skills Excellent computer literacy skills including an up to date knowledge of Microsoft Office. HMP The Verne, a Category C men's prison on the Isle of Portland in Dorset, prioritises education through partnerships with Weston College and the Open University.
