Job Purpose: As a Higher Education Lecturer in Children’s Learning and Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students. You will be responsible for teaching a range of higher education courses, preparing lessons, and marking assessments. Your passion for education and innovative teaching methods will help us enhance our curriculum and student engagement. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Development: Participate in planning and developing the curriculum to ensure it meets the highest standards. Teaching: Deliver engaging and effective teaching sessions, both in-person and through blended learning approaches. Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance and enhancement processes, ensuring academic standards are maintained. Student Support: Provide comprehensive support to students from pre-entry to post-entry, fostering a positive learning environment. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen our educational provision and promote our programs. Relationships: Internal Contacts: Work closely with the Assistant Principal, Higher Education, Director of HE Schools, Curriculum Leads, and other key staff members. External Contacts: Liaise with university academic contacts, external examiners, and various professional organizations. Professional Development: Stay updated in your specialist area and participate in staff development activities. Engage in regular performance reviews and appraisals to continuously improve your teaching practice. Additional Duties: Support the college’s commitment to equality, diversity, health and safety, and safeguarding policies. Undertake other tasks as directed to meet the needs of the college. Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Degree in a relevant subject. Minimum Level 2 Literacy & Numeracy. Current experience in an educational environment. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Desirable: Relevant Master’s degree. Teaching qualification. Experience in higher education and primary education environments. Membership of a professional body. Personal Qualities: Commitment to the success of learners. Ability to work collaboratively and independently. Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, caring manner. This role is full time 35.5 hours and is a fixed term Contract until 27th June 2025.
