Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities Our people are integral to the delivery of our strategy and transforming RICS into a world-class, experience-led organisation. Reporting the Chief People Officer and working as part of the People Leadership Team, this role exists to define and implement a strategy to build organisational capability across RICS, and to support a high-performance and healthy “culture” within the organisation, as part of our broader RICS People strategy and agenda. Clearly this will require open and collaborative working.
The role balances overseeing the provision of a high-quality learning and development offering for all RICS colleagues with the need to understand and influence the other factors that affect organisational effectiveness and performance. You will need to:-
- work openly and collaboratively to define and implement a strategy that builds organisational capability across RICS and supports delivery of a high-performance and healthy culture within the organisation, as part of our broader RICS People strategy and agenda
- build, manage, lead and develop the L&OD team
- work closely with People Team colleagues (notably HR Business Partners) and other key stakeholders to enhance colleague experience and organisational effectiveness, using an understanding of models of work behaviour and behavioural change
- provide “thought leadership” and act as trusted advisor to Senior Leadership colleagues around matters of organisational capability, culture and work behaviour
- create and oversee the execution of an annual Learning and Development plan, aligned to the organisational capability strategy and the broader People Team strategy
- think and work internationally – whilst our Head Office is in the UK, we have colleagues all around the world
About
About You The ideal candidate will likely have:
- Broad and varied HR leadership experience, with significant previous focus on improving capability and enabling organisational change.
- Experience of building, developing and leading a learning and OD team
- Professional qualifications, education and/or demonstrable equivalent experience in learning and development, management and leadership development, team development and organisation development.
- Experience of applying behavioural principles and an understanding of “organisations as complex adaptive systems”
- Strong consulting and diagnostic skills – an ability to uncover root causes of presenting issues, and an ability to design, run and learn from experiments and pilots.
- An ability to build and maintain strong trusting relationships that enable the role holder to challenge with empathy and to influence behaviours and outcomes
