The Head of Quality is responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement in the business to ensure the quality of our education and learner experience is market-leading. They are responsible for ensuring the business meets all regulatory requirements in relation to Ofsted and is always inspection-ready. Working with other senior managers in the business, they will create the quality strategy and ensure its effective execution. The postholder is a member of the Apprentify Senior Leadership Team.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develop and drive the 5-year quality strategy and continuous quality improvement plan
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are up to date, compliant and followed across the organisation
- To support the strategic overview and implementation of Quality Assurance across the business
- Implement and maintain up to date policies and procedures across the business to ensure the business is inspection-ready at all times
- Develop the Teaching Learning and Assessment strategy
- To manage the team of IQAs
- To help develop and support learning systems and processes across the business
- To support a company-wide strategy on continuous improvement for Quality Assurance with focus on outstanding experiences for our staff, employers and learners
- To own and develop the company SAR and QIP
- To develop and drive the Observation of Teaching, Learning and Assessment process in line with the Teaching and Learning Strategy.
- Develop and demonstrate best practice in learning, teaching and assessment assuring continuous improvement and continuity
- To support the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of all staff and complete Training Needs Analysis as appropriate
- Support the Head of Delivery in ensuring that trainers are compliant and effective with the completion of learner journey documentation
- Support the Head of Curriculum to ensure all training resources are market leading, renewed annually and industry led
- Undertake mentoring through IQA support visits as per Quality Framework
- To support the Designated Safeguarding Lead and safeguarding team
- Ensure agreed satisfaction levels are achieved and maintained with learners and employers
- To manage and lead on Awarding Organisation visits within sector
- To assist in the creation in curriculum resources where necessary
- Work with the HR Department to ensure Safer Recruitment processes are followed and maintained
KPIs
- OFSTED rating of ‘Good’ or better
- Learner withdrawals is less than 20% of starters
- Certificates are issued within 1 month of course completion
- All policies and procedures are reviewed regularly and compliant

Education and Qualifications
Essential:
Educated to at least A-level
Teaching qualification
Internal Quality Assurance Qualification
Desirable:
Educated to degree level
Experience
Essential:
Line manager experience of at least two years
Experience of working in an education setting
Desirable:
Experience of working in a commercial education setting
Experience of working closely with regulatory bodies
Knowledge and understanding
Essential:
Thorough understanding of Ofsted requirements
Thorough understand of what best practice teaching looks like
Up to date understanding of latest trends in pedagogy and andragogy

Understanding of commercial training setting and managing costs
