We are dedicated to building a motivated, skilled and engaged workforce committed to delivering the Best Care for Everyone, and the role of Lead for People Development is pivotal in achieving that Main duties of the job The Education and People Development Service at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHNHSFT) is currently undertaking a full-scale review of its services and the provision each provides, supporting its commitment to provide the trust and colleagues with relevant, up-to-date, evidence-based education, learning and development opportunities. The Lead for People Development will support the Head of Education and People Development through realignment processes and conversations, leading change management as required to ensure the People Development provision within the Education and People Development Service meets the needs of both the organisation and our staff, and promotes a positive and supportive education, learning and workforce development culture. The Lead for People Development will lead and manage education, learning and development teams, apprenticeship and careers, leadership and management development, induction, and business administration. As a senior member of the Education and People Development team you will ensure that the interventions provided by the teams are aligned to the Trust strategic priorities, underpinned by a strong evidence base, and can demonstrate a measurable impact on staff experience, behavioural change, KPIs and help to create a safe and compassionate culture. Job responsibilities The key deliverables for the Lead for People Development are: Work in collaboration with Head of Education and People Development, Associate Director for Education Learning and Culture, and the Lead for Education and Skills, to scope, research and design a potential change to provision that best benefit the service, our colleagues and the trust. Continue to build on our successful apprenticeship offering to support the development of our current and future workforce, in partnership with our Integrated Care System (ICS) colleagues. Support the Head of Education and People Development in the evolution of, and then lead on the implementation of a GHNHSFT apprenticeship and careers strategy, paying special attention to the creation of new opportunities and service improvements that will enhance staff and learner experience. Lead on work experience within the organisation Ensure the provision of high-quality T Level and work experience placements to attract our future workforce, and support embedding the Safe Learning Environment Charter principles into all placement areas for all learners. Collaboratively work with workforce and Trust leaders to lead on the development of career pathways for our non-medical clinical and non-clinical workforce from apprenticeships to post-registration where applicable, ensuring a pipeline for our future workforce that particularly targets our workforce shortages and gaps. Management of the DAS account to ensure we maximise the opportunities presented through the Apprenticeship Levy, increasing the numbers, range and quality of apprenticeships at all levels in our Trust, leading on the required procurement of apprenticeship providers in line with the NHS Standard Financial Instructions.
