Role Information We are looking for an experienced learning support Advisor/Mentor who can support learners with additional learning needs. This is a full time role (Monday - Friday, 9-5) within a busy Hair and Beauty Academy. Provide structured support using a range of effective interventions (as per their EHCP Plan) within a class and/or outdoor setting To aid access to the full range of learning experiences and provide modified materials as required e.g. worksheets, games, visual prompt cards etc. Provide positive reinforcements, praise and emotional support to learners Advise and support Tutors with making necessary adjustments for Learners with learning support needs Ensure Learning Support Plans and contact logs are updated accurately and timely Work as part of the team to ensure that the well being and personal development of the Learner enhances their learning opportunities and life skills. Agree learning support aims and interventions with the learner and set these out in the Learning Support Plan Provide regular feedback to the SENCo and, where necessary, relevant outside agencies about any pupil’s difficulties and progress. Contribute to the Learners' annual review by writing a brief report and attending the meeting Foster links with External Agencies and Carers Facilitate inclusion in small group activities with learners and support interaction between them. Essentia Criteria Must have a Minimum of 2 years experience working with Post 16 Learners Knowledge and experience of working with Post 16 learners with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP) GCSE, ‘O’ Level or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English.
