We are looking for a highly motivated, resilient worker with the ability to work calmly under pressure. You will need to demonstrate your enthusiasm to improve services for individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEND) and be able to organise and manage your work within set statutory timescales. You will be able to communicate well with people of all ages and from all backgrounds, demonstrate a positive and inclusive manner and keep accurate records.
You will be employed within the ALS Team in the Student Support Services department structure under the overall management of the Head of SEND and ALS. You will report directly to the SEN Coordinator for professional, personal and organisational direction.
Due to the ongoing emphasis within the SEN reforms and the continued focus on the Education and Health Care Plans (EHCP) we require additional personnel to support the needs assessments, annual reviews, statutory casework, delivering quality on time.
This role oversees a manageable caseload of SEND students, supporting their journey from pre-entry, transition to college, whilst on their study programme and their progression onwards.
Ideally the candidate will have a higher-level qualification in SEND or equivalent or be willing to work towards in the first year. We would also be interested in candidates who have a depth of equivalent experience in SEND as there is support available to undertake appropriate CPD for the right candidate.
You will also have a level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.
