About the RoleKeighley College are looking to recruit 5 Learning Support Assistants for our 16-19 courses. This role is part-time (19 hours per week) and reduced year (36 weeks per year). These roles require experienced SEND practitioners to support students with Educational Health Care Plans in a mainstream setting based at Keighley College campus. Additionally, make a contribution towards positive outcomes for disadvantaged and vulnerable students in their preparation for adulthood.What You Will Do You will be involved in planning and preparation and ,assessment of learning as part of the course team, providing in-class support to meet identified needs of students who have high needs.Provide curriculum teachers/assessors and Learning Support team members with verbal reports on students who have high needs, keeping accurate and timely records, recording progress and strategies used, as required. You may be involved in learners’ transport arrangements and personal care.About You Educated to Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy or a commitment to achieving this within one year of appointment.Experience of working in a team in an educational setting.Experience of working with students who have high needs or SEN to support their learning through identifying strategies and preparing young people for adulthood.Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels in the college.Be computer literate and have a strong awareness of disability issues and equality and diversity issues.Ability to assist with personal care provision including requirements of wheelchair users.A passion to promote a safe environment for, young people and vulnerable adults to learn in, with a specific commitment to the PREVENT agenda.Ability to establish rapport with high needs students and to maintain professional boundaries.About UsKeighley College has excellent modern facilities and provides a professional and friendly environment.
