Based at our Southwark College site, close to Waterloo Station, the successful candidate will be part of a large team of Learning Support Workers. The posts would be term-time only on:</p><br/> <p/> <ul> <li>FTE 0.57 post working term tine only on Monday to Wednesday from 9.00 am – 5pm</li> </ul> <p/> <p><br/> The main duties of the post holders would be:</p><br/> <p/> <ul> <li>In class support for learners with EHCPs, this would include note taking, prompting, assisting students with classroom tasks to access teaching, learning and assessment</li> </ul><br/> <p/> <ul> <li>Creating / adapting / using a range of resources and strategies to meet learners’ needs including e-resources, assistive technology and adapted equipment</li> </ul><br/> <p/> <ul> <li>Supervising learners on arrival at college, during lunchtimes and breaks and ensuring they leave the premises with due care as required</li> </ul><br/> <p/> <ul> <li>Supporting learners off-site in learning and travelling contexts e.g. trips, travel training, work placements</li> </ul><br/> <p/> <ul> <li>Keeping records of learner needs, progress and the achievement of learning targets</li> </ul> <p/> <p><br/> If you have a passion for helping students achieve their full potential and the drive, abilities and qualities to make a difference to student’s education we would like to hear from you.</p> <p/> <p><br/> Southwark College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
