The Role
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our existing team of Science lecturing staff. An ability to teach across different science disciplines would be useful and experience of teaching Chemistry at level 2 and 3 is essential. The successful candidate will teach across a number of different programmes and will also have some pastoral responsibilities.
The role will include:
- Creating engaging lectures in line with syllabus requirements to include a variety of demonstrations, instruction, practical activities, group work and individual projects, providing pupils with opportunities to learn through different methods.
- Teaching lessons at an appropriate level to include all pupils, adapting teaching approach and materials according to the pupils’ abilities, giving them the opportunity to question and investigate.
- Working closely with colleagues in the science department, coordinating lessons and developing programmes within the curriculum.
- To act as personal tutor to students, working on a one to one basis with students, recording and monitoring student attendance and progress as directed.

- Adapting: Be able to switch between different levels of study and subjects as required effectively meeting the needs of the learners
- Delivering: Planning and delivering a high quality curriculum to support the learning of all students as well as supportive feedback to enhance student achievement.
- Organising: Structuring and organising your workload effectively to meet deadlines. Promoting these skills to students to aid their development as independent learners.
