Lecturer / Green Keeping/Sports Turf Apprenticeships Salary: Hourly paid and up to £18.97 per hour (dependent upon qualifications and experience) We are seeking to recruit to our renowned team of horticulture staff a further Lecturer to teach Level 2 Greenkeeping and Sports Turf Apprentices. The delivery will be primarily classroom based with the opportunities to embed practical’s where the syllabus allows. The candidate will need to have transferrable skills to adapt their teaching to the different courses. The areas of teaching allocated will be dependent upon the successful applicant’s knowledge and competency, but the successful applicant should be competent to deliver some of the following areas linked to Greenkeeping: Health & Safety, Plant & Soil Science, Professional Development, Identification of Turf Grasses and Weeds. Applicants should have good all round horticultural/greenkeeping knowledge and must have a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience together with a Level 4 (or above) qualification. and preferably substantial industry experience and previous teaching experience. Use of machinery and relevant competence qualifications will be an advantage as will be assessing qualifications and experience with delivery of apprenticeships. The postholder will be working closely with the Apprenticeship Progress Mentors (assessors) and Lecturers, setting and marking work on an e-portfolio platform. Preparing apprentices for End Point Assessment through the delivery of Mandatory and Optional units.
