The School of Construction, Building Services and Automotive at the Stevenson Road campus offer vocational courses from Entry Level to Level 3 across specialist subjects in construction and automotive including the T Level in onsite carpentry. This is an exciting time within Further and Higher Education and we at South Essex Colleges' group are at the heart of the community. South Essex has a large number of industry developments and projects over the next 5 years and the construction industry is at the heart of this. We work with a plethora of employers and businesses locally and nationally and this is fundamental to ensuring we are meeting local need and the progression of our learners into work or education through the T Level routes, Apprenticeships and higher education. In line with this we need a Lecturer in construction based at our Stephenson Road campus (Basildon College) to teach and develop our learners to achieve there goals. The role will be working with an established and evolving team that are highly skilled from a multitude of areas and skill sets in construction, all passionate about there roles and students. With state-of-the-art facilities, you will deliver first class teaching on our programmes. The skill set we are looking for would be based around the multi skills area and incorporating Carpentry and Brick to deliver our City & Guilds and NCFE qualifications starting at Entry level 3 and moving onto L1 and L2. As a minimum, candidates will ideally possess the following: A minimum of a L2 in a related construction skill (multi skills, brick or carpentry) Industry experience in the related areas Maths and English at grade 4 (c) or above Ideally a teaching qualification (although we will provide training to achieve this) A commitment to working within FE.
