Coleg Sir Gar have an exciting opportunity for a Casual Lecturer in electrical installations, based at our Ammanford Campus for approx 24 hours. This is a great opportunity to inspire the next generation of learners at Coleg Sir Gar. What will you be doing? As a lecturer in electrical installations, you will be responsible for high quality teaching and assessments of learners on our programmes of study. You will liaise with third party stakeholders including sector skills councils, industrial bodies, partner schools, employers and other higher educational institutions. You will ensure your learners have the very best experience with an inclusive learning environment that promotes learner engagement, participation, and success. The construction curriculum area forms part of the construction and ILS faculty. The construction provision is based at our Ammanford Campus and includes building crafts, building services, schools, construction technical and higher education. Part of the school's provision is also delivered off-site at Bryngwyn school. The curriculum area team has over thirty full-time and part-time members which includes teaching, assessing and support staff. The curriculum area also has extensive links with industry, winning many national awards for collaborative partnerships. The successful candidate will mainly support the electrical installations occupations team but will also be expected to contribute across the whole faculty provision to support delivery and assessment to our students as required. What do you need? A teaching qualification would be advantageous, but not essential. If you don’t have a teaching qualification, but relevant industrial experience related to electrical installation, we would love to hear from you. We may be able to support you to gain your teaching qualification whilst you are employed with us. You will need relevant qualifications in electrical installation and experience of teaching/mentoring others. This doesn’t have to be experience within a classroom environment. You will need excellent communication skills, be highly organised, and a passion to want to make a difference to others. What to do next?
