Required on a casual basis. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Lecturer to join our team and deliver high-quality teaching on our Higher Technical Qualification offer. The college is in the process of developing a Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Digital Technologies for England (Data Analyst pathway). This role will be teaching the content of this course to a group of adult learners. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in the following programming languages and skills: Python, R, SQL, JavaScript, PHP, HTML, Data analytics and visualisation. They should also demonstrate fundamental knowledge in: Power BI and data visualisation. Big Data technologies, including Hadoop and HDFS. Cloud computing essentials, including cloud access, identity, security, storage, networking services, and cloud databases. Database design principles and data modeling. Data analysis techniques, including regression, transformation, and predictive analytics. Systems testing methodologies and different testing techniques. Additional skills include: Proficiency in tools such as Power BI and Excel for data analysis and reporting. Key Responsibilities: Design and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for a Level 5 Higher National Diploma Course. Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and learning objectives. Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, projects, and examinations. Provide mentorship and support to students, fostering a positive and effective learning environment. Stay updated with industry trends and integrate relevant knowledge into teaching materials. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and curriculum development. You should have a degree, and ideally a masters, in a related area (or an equivalent professional qualification), and a teaching qualification is desirable alongside a good standard of education including Maths and English to Level 2 or above. You may also be required to undertake relevant quality assurance training and certification to meet awarding body requirements for assessment and internal verification of student work.
