We are part Education Training Collective (Etc.), which is of a group of colleges in the Tees Valley; Stockton Riverside College, Redcar and Cleveland College, Bede Sixth Form College, NETA Training and The Skills Academy. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Sport to join our Construction, Engineering and Service Industries team reporting to our Curriculum Manager in this area.
As a lecturer in sport & exercise with Redcar and Cleveland College you will be responsible for the delivery methods to meet the needs for local businesses and provide the learners with appropriate skills for employment upon completion of their study programme. You will have responsibility for attendance and retention, as well as liaising with teams across the college to ensure marketing and promotion of all types of provision
The ideal candidate will have a clear understanding of FE provision and will be organised with excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work flexibly with a high level of accuracy and attention. There is also a need for attention to detail, specifically in regards to Health & Safety
The successful candidate will hold an appropriate academic qualification, to a minimum of Level 3 alongside a teaching qualification. An Assessor Award qualification is essential and a TAQA certificate would be advantageous, however appropriate training will be provided. Experience of working with young people in a vocation or educational area will ensure you have the appropriate knowledge and attributes for the role. Schedule
There will be a need to work some hours beyond 5pm for occasional events such as open evenings and extra-curricular or enrichment activities. This time can be taken back in lieu (in accordance with your line-manager).
