Salary: Up to £37,996 per annum (Subject to experience) Reporting To: Education Manager IN SHORT MK College Group has an exciting opportunity for a creative Functional Skills English & Maths Lecturer to join the team based at HMP Maidstone. As a Functional Skills Lecturer, you will engage prison-based students in Functional Skills English & Maths with creative classes and resources. Many students have diverse needs and learning abilities, often having had negative experiences with education. As a successful Lecturer, you will inspire them and provide a positive learning experience. You will connect with students professionally, supporting their learning and enabling them to achieve success through qualifications as well as developing confidence and softer skills applicable to employment and further education. We seek an individual who can communicate effectively to inspire and motivate students. The average class consists of 8-9 students, supported by a student mentor. Sessions are approximately 3 hours long, and your lessons will need to be adaptable, innovative, and imaginative. You will support students in progressing towards achieving a Functional Skills exam through City and Guilds.
