If you can effectively engage with learners and can demonstrate excellent classroom management skills, we would like you to be part our education team based at HMP Coldingley. The role will involve teaching the NCFE Level 2 Peer Mentoring, and CMI Level 3 Award in Leadership & Management courses. A recognised teaching qualification (minimum Level 3 Award in Education and Training) with experience is preferred, however for the right candidate with relevant industry experience, full training and mentoring will be provided. HMP Coldingley, located in Bisley, Surrey, is a Category C men's prison with a strong focus on rehabilitation and industrial training. Opened in 1969 as a Category B industrial training prison, it was reclassified to Category C in 1993 to house inmates who pose a lower security risk. HMP Coldingley’s focus is firmly fixed on reducing reoffending and preventing future victims of crime by preparing offenders for their release through accredited intervention programmes, skill and vocational based training and education, in a pro social environment. Courses at HMP Coldingley include Maths, English, IT, Art, Barbering, H&S, First Aid, Food Safety, Business, Leadership & Management, Award in Education & Training (AET), Learning Support and much more. The surrounding area of Bisley is a quaint village in Surrey, known for its picturesque countryside and proximity to Woking. This location provides a relatively peaceful environment, which is conducive to the prison's rehabilitative efforts. Commuter access to HMP Coldingley is straightforward. The prison is accessible via the M3 motorway and is a short drive from Woking, which has excellent rail connections to London and other major cities. This makes it relatively easy for visitors and staff to reach the facility. Parking is available and no charges apply. The education delivery hours are Monday to Thursday 9.00am – 11.30am, 2.00pm – 4.30pm and on Fridays 9.00am – 11.30am, with staff working on-site 8:00am – 5:00pm each day and 8:00am – 1:00pm on Fridays. Class sizes typically range from 8-10 learners.
