About the role
The Managing Director will be responsible for the overall strategic and operational management of Busy Bees Education and Training. You will be working closely with the senior leadership team within Busy Bees Education and Training.
The Managing Director will represent Busy Bees Education and Training within the wider group and our board of governance.
In line with the groups strategic plan, you will execute and monitor quality to the highest standards by driving achievement rates and the accountability framework working in partnership with the ESFA to ensure compliance and quality is embedded. You will also have an exceptional understanding of Ofsted requirements under the Education Inspection Framework.

You will be a visionary and strategic leader who is passionate about education with strong ethical standards and the ability to adapt to work in a fast-paced environment whilst driving performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives.
- Identify and capitalise on new apprenticeship opportunities within the childcare sector.
- Lead the company in to become a market leader in childcare apprenticeships.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of the work-based learning/Apprenticeship division.
- Designate lead for OFSTED inspections
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Implement and manage quality assurance processes to maintain high training standards.
- Develop and manage the company's budget, ensuring financial stability and profitability.
- Monitor financial performance, providing regular reports to the Board of Directors.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including educational institutions, employers, and regulatory bodies.
- Act as the primary spokesperson for the company, representing its interests at industry events and forums.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
- Foster a positive and collaborative company culture aligned with the company's values.
- Ensure staff are motivated, engaged, and equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Drive business development initiatives to expand the company's reach and impact.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the company's apprenticeship programs.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to ensure the company remains at the forefront of childcare training.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and effectiveness of training programs.
Key Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in a Senior Executive/Director role within the education or apprenticeship sector, preferably within childcare.
- Thorough knowledge of ESFA and other funding methodologies
- Experience as designate lead for OFSTED inspections.
- Demonstrated success in driving business growth and achieving strategic objectives.
- Experience in stakeholder management and building strategic partnerships.
- Exceptional leadership with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team and working with an established senior leadership team.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions and solve complex problems.
