Working Hours: 33 hours per week over 4 days, working one in four Fridays, 52 weeks per year. A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior MIS Officer to join our Exams and Registry department. The purpose of the role is to lead the MIS and Exams team in providing an efficient and effective function that delivers a high-quality customer focused service to meet the requirements of key stakeholders. The successful applicant must: · Understand of a range of funding guidance and rules related to further and higher education or the ability to quickly become expert. · Have a good understanding of relational databases and their application in the automation of processes, data handling and management reporting. · Possess good working knowledge of GDPR and the Freedom of Information Act, with the ability to deal with sensitive information in a confidential manner. · Manage cross college projects, acting on their own initiative to set and meet deadlines with a results-orientated approach. · Be an excellent communicator and have the ability to actively listen and collaborate; adept at building relationships, understanding diverse perspectives, and addressing colleagues’ concerns effectively. · Have strong interpersonal and influencing skills which generate confidence, respect, credibility and trust, inspiring their team and others around them to continuously improve. · Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, having high level communication skills with the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff at all levels in the organisation. Proven organisational and planning skills are required. · Have excellent written communication skills with the ability to write technical specifications and user guides. · Be proficient in providing clear, concise analysis, advice and guidance to managers at all levels on a range of issues and in a range of formats, both written and in person. The roles main duties include: · Management of the MIS and Exams team so they support the delivery of the colleges strategic plan and leading on funding and compliance. · Ensuring the accuracy of college data so it is audit compliant and available for college stakeholders and submitted to external agencies in a timely fashion. · Maintaining and developing colleges systems and reporting. · Ensuring exams are administered efficiently, effectively and fairly. This role requires you to engage in regulatory activity in the FE sector. The full definition of regulatory activity is set out in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 as amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.
