The Isle of Wight College is looking to appoint a Sessional Public Services Lecturer to support the department.
About the role
As a Public Services Lecturer, you will inspire and educate students in the field of public services. You’ll contribute to curriculum development, deliver high-quality teaching, and engage with learners to maximize their potential. You would be required to plan, deliver, and assess learner work on our Level 2 and 3 courses.
The successful candidate would be required to be competent in delivering both the physical and theoretical aspects of public services.
Some of the responsibilities would include:
- Prepare and deliver engaging lessons in public services subjects.
- Develop teaching materials, lesson plans, and assessments.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive learning environment and support student well-being.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the college’s strategic goals.
About you
To be successful in this role you will require the below:
- Experience in public services or related fields.
- Passion for education and student success.
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Public Services, Uniform Services or equivalent related subject
- Level 2 qualification (GCSE grade A – C or equivalent) in English and Maths or willing to complete as part of probation
- A Degree/HND or equivalent vocational/professional qualification in Public Services, Social Sciences or a related field would be desirable
