Independent End Point Assessor - Mammography Associate
The role of an Independent End-Point Assessor (IEA) in the mammography sector is a critical component of the apprenticeship system. The IEA is responsible for assessing the performance of candidates in accordance with published assessment and grading criteria and procedures, ensuring overall standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in regular training and standardization activities associated with the IEA role
- Maintain and provide evidence of ongoing relevant Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
- Assess candidate performance in accordance with published assessment and grading criteria and procedures
- Follow protocols set out in Pearson's specifications, assessment materials, and quality assurance protocols
- Maintain service-level agreements regarding EPA planning, operational activities, reports, and submissions of assessment outcomes
- Report all risks and issues encountered during the end-point assessment to Pearson
- Ensure high-quality EPA reports and assessment evidence are recorded accurately
- Support Pearson with appeals from apprentices regarding assessment decisions

Occupational Profile:
A Mammography Associate works within the breast imaging workforce undertaking routine two-view mammography. They work in a multi-disciplinary team within a hospital or community setting, undertaking mammography of individuals as part of a breast screening programme or routine mammography on individuals with symptoms of breast disease.
Requirements:
- Occupationally competent in the mammography sector
- HCPC Registered
- Currently working in the NHS Breast Screening Programme
- Accreditation or holding a PG Cert in education or equivalent
- Hold a current DBS certificate
- Assessor qualification
Essential Requirements:
- Only UK-based candidates will be considered due to requirements
- Minimum of two working days during the week required for the EPA role
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
