Job Title: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Games
We are seeking a full-time academic with expertise in games to join our vibrant team at the School of Digital Arts, SODA, within one of the UK's leading universities.
Role Overview:
- The successful candidate will possess experience and/or recent industry experience in game practices, technologies, and critical thinking within an industry context.
- They should have excellent digital skills in games production, technical art, and/or animation using current industry standard techniques and processes.
- A strong understanding of games engines such as Unreal and Unity, as well as proficiency in industry-standard 3D software like Maya and 3ds Max, is required.
The applicant must be able to deliver courses grounded in the present industry trends while offering space for future exploration. This includes leading students to investigate what it means to be a creative media practitioner at the intersection of storytelling, technology, and innovation.
SODA offers industry and research-informed courses, specialist spaces, and access to the latest technologies. Our students study disciplines that span film, animation, UX, games design, games art, and more, often working on live projects with industry partners and collaborating with fellow students and researchers.
We work closely with various cultural and industry partners, including Factory International, Black Magic Design, BBC, ITV, and HOME, situated in Manchester, a city transforming into a leading powerhouse of the UK's digital economy.
The estimated salary for this role is £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
