Driver Trainer (LGV)

GDL is seeking a dedicated Training Business Partner to join our Thorne depot. This role ensures drivers have the necessary skills and knowledge to maintain high safety standards, comply with industry regulations, and meet company objectives.
You will work closely with management across multiple sites to implement effective training programs that drive change, enhance safety, and ensure operational excellence.
- Collaborate with management teams to identify training needs, establish annual training plans, and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Champion safety initiatives and drive change in collaboration with site management.
- Provide comprehensive driver training, including mandatory Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) training.
- Develop and deliver Task-Specific Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) training and other specialist training modules.
- Conduct Group Induction for all new employees, ensuring they have a thorough introduction to the company's standards and expectations.
- BRC Quality Standards training.
- Lead or assist in incident investigations, performing root cause analyses to inform preventative measures.
- Training 'Authorised Site Specialists' in various aspects of our operations.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of industry regulations and best practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in delivering training programs.
This role offers an estimated salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, and is based at our Thorne depot.
