The purpose of the job is to contribute to the development of first-rate education and professional development support for all registered and non-registered staff within the department. Within theatres, we provide practical placements for all nursing, midwifery and paramedic students, of which all require support from the education team.
We are very fortunate to be able to provide apprenticeships within the theatre department, this involves ensuring strong collaborative working alongside universities and stakeholders to ensure the correct support and guidance is available throughout the course.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an Operating Department Practitioner or Nurse with post qualification of at least three years.
The post holder will provide leadership and motivation in order to establish excellent evidence based clinical practice. They will also monitor and review standards of care and take part in any programmes of development and improvement where necessary providing supervision and support.
The job plan involves 80:20 clinical to management responsibilities in order to maintain standardisation across the staff group in providing safe care to our patients.
