Strive Academy Limited provides educational training and support to vulnerable learners to re-engage or prevent disengagement from mainstream education. Our vocational courses include construction, hair and beauty, sport, health and social care, travel and tourism and music/media, along with outreach tutoring and mentoring services. We have a dedicated team focused on working with learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to help them succeed.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role in Stalybridge or Manchester as a Construction Lead Tutor/Trainer. The role involves providing educational training, support, and mentoring to learners in the construction field and leading a team of construction tutors. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, conducting hands-on training sessions, and assessing learner progress.
Your workday will be 9:30am to 3:00pm with a promise to make sure you rarely if ever take work home. . We work term time only so you get all the school holidays paid.
Qualifications
- Construction training and teaching skills
- Assessors qualification and IV quals
- Experience in vocational education and mentoring
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the construction industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with learners with SEN
- Relevant industry certifications or qualifications in construction
- Previous experience working with vulnerable or at-risk learners
- A willingness to undergo further training or CPD in education and construction
Salary £32000 to £38000 depending on experience.
