Your Opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join our UK Accounting team who is curious, eager to learn, and ready to embrace challenges.
Your role could involve:
- Assisting with monthly and year end reporting of financial information.
- Safeguarding against suspicious activities
- Delivering financial and accounting information to stakeholders
- Assisting in the maintenance and use of digital systems to support the accurate and timely financial and accounting information
- Collaborating with people to deliver a service that meets our needs with a commitment to professional and ethical standards
You'll also achieve a professional qualification, awarded by a finance industry professional body such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (‘ACCA’), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (‘CIMA’) or Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).
What can I look forward to?
During your apprenticeship you’ll:
- Learn about the principles of financial accounting including calculations and the impact of things such as purchases, disposal, depreciation, and financing.
- Develop your knowledge around the principles of creating and maintaining financial records
- Become aware of accountancy and finance and it’s role in the business strategy
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders
- Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accountancy applications
- Investigate, resolve, or escalate queries and issues as they arise
- Communicate using varying approaches and different methods with a appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business.
- Learn about the importance of being professional and ethical, applying transparent, objective and sustainable ways to meet the requirements of the profession
Alongside your role, you’ll complete either:
- Level 3 Assistant Accountant including AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting
- Level 4 Professional Accounting or Taxation Technician Apprenticeship Including either Certificate level qualification from ACCA, ‘CIMA’ or AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting.
The apprenticeship will take between 18 and 21 months. In addition to investing in your learning, we give you time to study as well as the opportunity to put what you learn into practice.
Your qualification is just the start of your career at Zurich. Once your apprenticeship is complete you will have plenty of opportunities to put your new skills into practice while continuing to develop and grow.

What you’ll need:
- Full right to work and reside in the UK – Due to apprenticeship funding regulations, we cannot accept applications from those who require sponsorship to work in the UK. You must have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 consecutive years.
- A minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 including Maths and English.
- A professional attitude with a positive ‘can do’ approach to your work
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build strong working relationships
- Attention to detail and a curious nature
NB: Due to Apprenticeship funding rules, we can only accept applicants who haven’t completed a qualification in the same field at the same or higher level to the course you are applying for
