Job Title - IQA (Internal Quality Assurer) for ICT and Data Apprenticeships

Job Purpose
To ensure Wise Origin Delivery Coaches/Tutors deliver high quality, teaching, learning and assessment within apprenticeships and regulated qualifications, meeting the requirements of the Education Inspection Framework, funding agency requirements and where relevant - Awarding Organisation standards.
Support Development Coaches/Tutors to develop their skills in teaching and assessment and through observations of teaching and learning, work scrutiny and standardising practices.
Contribute to the Apprenticeship Development Coach/Tutor performance review in a format depending on individual needs, feeding back on risk-bandings, sampling, observations, any other QA activity, achievements, challenges and areas for development.
Sector and Qualifications
As part of our plans to further grow the business, we require a talented professional to quality assure our apprenticeship programmes. The successful applicant will have experience in the following subject areas;
- L3 Digital Support Technician (Service & Application)
- L3 Data Technician
- L3 Information Communication Technician (Network & Support)
- L3 Solutions Technician (Hardware & Software) .
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and manage standardised sampling plans for the delivery and teaching team.
- Lead on standardisation activities for your sector of expertise/occupational competence
- Undertake observations and support visits in line with Wise Origin’s strategy and Observation Policy
- Ensure all Quality Assurance documentation is completed adhering to Wise Origin’s standards and where relevant; those of the Awarding Organisation.
- Maintain the integrity of all programmes by ensuring any suspected malpractice or maladministration are followed up and addressed
- Support the development of sector leading curriculum to support curriculum intent and employer requirements.
- Work in collaboration with the Head of Training & Quality to review teaching and learning resources to ensure they remain fit for purpose.
- Implement and monitor the Teaching and Learning Strategy.
- Contribute to the evaluation of the Teaching and Learning Policy.
- Attend relevant meetings to inform continuous improvement and curriculum Development.
- Maintain up to date resources on relevant apprenticeship systems
- Monitor the recording of progress and milestones towards achievement for all elements of the apprenticeship and follow through to final certification including:
- 1 - Sampling of OTJ to ensure it is accurate and sufficient in line with the plan
- 2 - Sampling of electronic portfolios to check they are regularly updated and an accurate reflection of each learner’s progress
- 3 - Sampling of contract paperwork and support in the upskilling of staff to ensure compliance.
- Support Apprentices in the Gateway and EPA process including mock assessments
- Offer expert Careers Information, Advice and Guidance to ensure coherence to quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives for staff and apprentices.
- Support employer with the mentoring of apprentices.
Skills and Experience
All applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK and have the ability to pass an enhanced DBS check.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience of working as an IQA in the relevant sector (Data & ICT)
- Working on publicly funded contracts subject to inspection regimes
- Knowledge of Safeguarding
- Understanding of apprenticeship routes and process
- IQA qualification
- Excellent time management
- Experience using learner management and electronic portfolio systems
- Full driving licence
- Experience working on some/all the following Apprenticeships
· L3 Digital Support Technician
· L3 Data Technician
· IT Solutions Technician
· L3 ICT
Desirable:
- CEIAG Qualification
- EPA Qualification
