Our teamwork in a flexible hybrid approach, combining both home and office-based working. The successful candidates will also spend one day a week with an external apprenticeship provider based in the central Cardiff area.

Job description
You will join a small cohort of new apprentices completing their level 4 digital infrastructure engineer certification (equivalent to an HNC).
This apprenticeship will last 24 months, throughout this time you will be supported by our internal L&D function and external apprenticeship providers to pass your certification and gain in demand skills. At the same time, you will gain on the job training with our talented Web/DevOps teams. You will complete two 1-year rotations across separate teams within the Web/DevOps function to maximise your exposure to a range of technologies.
You, and your fellow apprentices will learn to maintain, upgrade and automate our technical infrastructure. You will be resolving incident issues and find root causes of problems. You will contribute to the development of projects to improve the range and quality of digital services available to our customer and take an active part in the transformation of our services and smarter ways of working. With training and support from experts in their fields, you’ll be enthusiastic about developing your knowledge, skills and behaviours, working towards completing your apprenticeship, gaining appropriate qualifications whilst making a real difference in your role.

Our dedicated Innovation Team will support you every step of the way, helping you make the most of your opportunities and to achieve the goals you already have – and those you have yet to discover! About the Apprenticeship
Please note this is a fixed-term apprenticeship role for 2 years but there may be the potential to move into a full-time role following the completion of the programme.

We are unfortunately unable to provide this opportunity to individuals who already possess a similar qualification at the same level or higher than the apprenticeship level 4 associated with this programme.

Person specification
We are looking for the following experience, which will be assessed at sift and at interview. Please refer to the bullet points in bold below when writing your personal statement, including examples to demonstrate your level of skill.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to work in a team.
- Some knowledge of and enthusiasm for computer hardware and/or software.
- Desire to work in a computing environment.
- Ability to examine evidence and data to understand it and solve problems.
- An aptitude and desire to identify and automate repeated tasks for efficiency and accuracy.
- Will be able to describe the basic components of a computer system, describe basic software development concepts and/or be aware of the range of computer operating systems and what they are.
Qualifications
In order to be eligible for Apprenticeship funding, you will need to have the following Qualifications:
• Achieved GCSE (or equivalent) passes at Grade C/4 or above in Maths & English Language.
and one or more of the following:
• Level 3 qualifications or equivalent experience such as:
- 2 A Levels (A-C)
- BTEC Level 3
- T-Level or a previous Level 3 Apprenticeship outside of the technology sector.
• Equivalent experience can be shown in the form of work experience or dedication to a personal project that showcases technical ability.
