We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Forensic Science Teacher to join our academic team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator to inspire and educate students in the field of forensic science. As a Forensic Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons, develop students' analytical skills, and foster an understanding of the key principles and practices in forensic science.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lesson Planning & Delivery: Design, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons across a range of forensic science topics, including crime scene investigation, evidence collection, DNA analysis, and forensic biology.
- Assessment & Feedback: Develop and administer assessments to track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their academic development.
- Student Support: Offer individualised support to students, helping them understand complex scientific concepts and equipping them with practical skills relevant to forensic science.
- Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of the forensic science curriculum, ensuring it is up-to-date with current industry practices and scientific advancements.
- Practical Sessions: Lead and supervise practical forensic science laboratory sessions, ensuring students have the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
- Classroom Management: Maintain an inclusive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- A degree in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- A relevant teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Proven experience teaching forensic science or related subjects, ideally within an educational or vocational setting.
- Strong knowledge of forensic science techniques, crime scene analysis, and laboratory procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage students.
- A commitment to providing a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Desirable Skills & Attributes:
- Experience delivering practical forensic science lessons and managing laboratory sessions.
- Ability to integrate real-world forensic science cases and examples into lessons.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A proactive and student-centred approach to teaching and academic support.
- Familiarity with current developments and trends in forensic science.
