Role Overview:
The government has mandated that all apprenticeships include an end-point assessment (EPA) to evaluate the Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours (KSBs) acquired during the apprenticeship. This process ensures apprentices meet the high standards set by employers, proving they are job-ready. As an Independent End-Point Assessor (IEA), your role will be to assess apprentices independently from their training provider, ensuring no conflict of interest exists.
IEAs will conduct assessments onsite or remotely, as initially agreed with employers or training providers. You will evaluate and record EPA outcomes, providing justifications for all grading decisions. Pearson's quality assurance representatives will oversee the EPA activities to maintain high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in regular training and standardization activities related to the EPA role.
- Document and provide evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
- Assess candidates' performance rigorously according to established criteria and procedures.
- Adhere to Pearson’s specifications and quality assurance protocols throughout the assessment process.
- Fulfill commitments related to planning, operational activities, reporting, and submitting assessment outcomes.
- Report any encountered risks, irregularities, and instances of malpractice to Pearson promptly.
- Ensure high-quality documentation and accuracy in EPA reports and evidence.
- Assist Pearson with any appeals from apprentices regarding assessment outcomes as necessary.
- Allow for travel time when organizing assessments.
- Address any conflicts of interest concerning independence in assessments.
- Complete all required actions as directed by Pearson.
- Contribute to the continuous enhancement of Pearson's end-point assessment activities.

Lead Adult Care Workers often provide leadership and are held accountable for care standards while guiding other care workers.
Adult Care Worker: As a frontline staff member, you will significantly impact individuals' lives who face various challenges. Adult Care Workers are essential in aiding adults to achieve their personal goals and maintain independence and safety.
Both roles involve working in diverse settings such as residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centers, or private homes.

Essential Background and Experience:
- Current relevant occupational competence.
- Knowledge of the adult care industry.
- Qualification in health and social care at or above the level being assessed (Level 3 or higher).
- Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) and assessor qualifications.
- Leadership experience in meetings and structured discussions.
- Experience with quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing CPD in line with apprenticeship and EPA requirements.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills for effective conflict resolution.
- Ability to recognize and respond to the unique needs of employers and apprentices.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of the adult care sector.
- In-depth familiarity with apprenticeship standards and assessment frameworks.
- Objective assessment and reporting capabilities.
- Time management skills to meet deadlines efficiently.
