About The Role Newham College is seeking a dynamic Director of Teaching and Learning to join our leadership team. This pivotal role will focus on advancing teaching and learning excellence across our Further Education, Higher Education, and Apprenticeship programs. The successful candidate will lead strategic improvements, ensuring outstanding teaching practices are implemented and maintained college wide. This includes driving innovation in digital and modern pedagogical methods and fostering an inspiring learning environment that prioritizes student success and professional growth. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of a college-wide Teaching and Learning Strategy, working closely with senior leadership. Lead quality improvement initiatives, supporting departments in achieving and sustaining high standards. Develop and implement policies on teaching observations and performance monitoring. Oversee training initiatives to ensure staff are well-prepared, innovative, and equipped to deliver exceptional learning experiences. Represent Newham College in external networks, championing our educational standards and engaging in continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree and a formal teaching qualification, with teaching experience in a Further Education environment and a proven record of promoting high student achievement. They will bring strong leadership and communication skills, along with expertise in digital teaching methodologies and a data-driven approach to quality assurance.
