We are seeking to recruit a dedicated and passionate Assessor / Tutor to join our engineering delivery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assessing mechanical engineering and have a commitment to educating learners of various ages, including those with special educational needs (electrical or machining experience would be advantageous but not essential). This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with learners of all ages, fostering a supportive and motivating learning environment. Post Title: Engineering Assessor / Tutor (mechanical) Department: STEM & Business Development Reports to: Head of Department (STEM & Business Development) Overall job purpose: To demonstrate a high quality of professional practice and provide quality assessing at a variety of levels. Devise action plans and maintain appropriate assessment and training records. Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (subject to qualifications and experience) Main Duties & Responsibilities To assess using an appropriate mix of traditional, e-learning and blended learning approaches, on a range of Engineering provision from Level 2 to 4 To provide support and guidance to apprentices, mentors, employers and other associated stakeholders To operate as an effective member of relevant curriculum teams and to work closely with other areas of the business To carry out administrative duties associated with assessing, including maintenance of monitoring and progress tracking records, three-way progress reviews, OTJ training logs, observation reports, and evaluations to a satisfactory standard and within established deadlines To work closely with the Quality & Compliance Team To ensure safe working practices are observed by yourself and others (including apprentices) for whom you are responsible To provide such returns or reports as may from time to time as required by the Head of Department (STEM & Business Development) or Senior Management Team To assist in the recruitment of apprentices with the Business Development Team To attend and conduct apprentice inductions To conduct employer Health & Safety inspections and ongoing monitoring To assist in the development of curriculum support materials. Other Duties Undertake additional duties as required To ensure Health & Safety and Safeguarding procedures are adhered to and safe working practices are observed by you and others (including learners) for whom they are responsible To promote the company ethos with regard to Equality and Diversity and act as a role model You will be required to become qualified as a First Aider To take part in approved staff development as part of the Train’d Up staff development programme. It is mandatory for employees to complete ‘Safeguarding Young and Vulnerable Adults’ training after which you will receive a certificate.
