You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £54,210 - £60,637 pa including London Weighting The Head of ALS & SEND role: The Head of ALS & SEND will provide leadership and management to oversee the cross-college support for high needs students and students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This will involve liaison with not just internal colleagues, but also with key external stakeholders including the Local Education Authority. The postholder will have the responsibility for the academic and financial performance of this area.. Key Responsibilities of our Head of ALS & SEND : Work with the ALS & SEND Management team to provide leadership for the ongoing development and delivery of outstanding cross College ALS and SEND provision. To lead and manage the SEND Support Management team to ensure high quality learning support and inclusive practice leading to wide participation and excellent achievement To work with the Director to contribute to the strategic direction and development of ALS, Supported Internship & SEND support As an active member of the College’s Management Team, you will work closely with the wider Executive and Senior Leadership Team to deliver the College’s strategy and objectives Developing and leading the delivery of the Service’s annual quality cycle, including: The observation of teaching and learning. Observation training and standardisation Performance monitoring Rarpa audits Internal and external verification to ensure the service meets awarding bodies’ requirements OFSTED readiness Other assciated quality functions. Our ideal Head of ALS & SEND should have the following qualifications, skills and experience; Degree or professional level qualification or relevant vocational experience Specialist level 5 or above qualification in SpLD or similar GCSE English Language and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or other Level 2 equivalent Management qualification (level 5) or willing to work towards The Head of Department role carries a teaching commitment of 4 hours per week.
