The Fire Service College is undertaking an ambitious transformation project to embed innovative and engaging hybrid learning solutions into its delivery. As a result, the curriculum is being reformed to drive innovation into how it is delivered to ensure it is the best in class. This project will see flexible, immersive and engaging educational delivery across fire, rescue and resilience.
Your role will be to provide a professional teaching capability to support learning and development across the range of Fire Safety and Fire Risk Assessment courses, including responsibility for managing specific work streams as allocated by the Training Manager.
This is a Hybrid role with the expectation of being on site at least 1 or 2 days a week (on-site accommodation can be provided)

Job Description:
What you’ll be doing:
- Course development – reviewing current courses and looking at what changes could be made
- Delivering and facilitating Fire Safety related programmes to a range of customers including Fire and Rescue Services, the Public Sector and Private Sector clients in a virtual capacity.
- Providing coaching and mentoring to delegates to ensure they achieve their maximum potential on the courses being undertaken.
- Liaising with stakeholders to design and drive new ways of teaching
- Supporting the team with new ways of teaching
- Day to day management of a small team
What we’re looking for:
- A minimum of a level 3 teaching qualification (CTLLS or AET), equivalent or higher
- current experience of working within a Regulator’s Fire Safety Department (e.g FRS, MOD, Local Authority).
- Managerial or team leader experience would be highly desirable
- Hold an assessor qualification (desirable)
- Fire Assessment and Safety Qualifications as well as working knowledge of British Standards eg BS9999, BS 9251, BS 5839 Part , BS 5266-1.
