As part of the Digital Academy, you will be an inspiration to your students and will contribute to achieving excellence in teaching and learning using innovative and emerging technologies. You will have an excellent up to date skillset <strong>including Cyber Security, Programming, Data Bases and A/I.</strong><br/><br/>You will deliver a curriculum that is cutting-edge as we prepare our learners for an ever-growing Digital world. We are looking for motivated individuals who have excellent interpersonal skills and can engage, motivate and inspire our students.<br/><br/></p> <p><br/>We offer a range of courses within the Digital Academy including L1 Digital and computing technologies, L2 I.T, L3 , T-Levels in Digital Production and Digital Support services. We also offer a range of Higher Education Programmes <br/><br/></p> <p><br/>Responsible to: Head of School<br/><br/></p> <br/><br/><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong> <ul> <li>To contribute to the College and curriculum area strategic objectives and to actively engage in the annual review</li><li>To be aware of national developments in subject area and update knowledge and skills on an annual basis</li><li>To plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons in order to achieve effective management of the learning process</li><li>Plan and use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques to engage and motivate students and encourage independence and student autonomy</li><li>Establish a purposeful and motivating learning environment where students feel safe, secure, confident and valued</li><li>Establish and maintain procedures with students which promote and maintain appropriate behaviour, communication and respect for others, while challenging discriminatory behaviour and attitudes</li><li>To set and mark work in accordance with College and School Assessment policies, to record work carried out and assessment of same</li><li>To track all students’ progress and attendance in accordance with agreed College systems and policies</li><li>To provide a balance of appropriate teaching styles and learning experiences</li><li>To be aware of external/internal assessment procedures and to play and appropriate part in their Implementation</li><li>Evaluate and improve own communication skills to maximise effective communication and overcome barriers</li><li>To liaise with Head of School in contributing to the design of programmes and teaching approaches which will enable curriculum areas to achieve high standards and value added</li><li>To liaise with Head of School and curriculum teams in contributing to the administration necessary to support the teaching, learning and assessment within the subject area</li><li>To work with colleagues with relevant expertise to identify and address additional student English and Maths skills development in subject area</li><li>To review own professional development needs and to participate fully in future training and development</li><li>To communicate and consult with parents, carers and students including Parent’s Evening, Welcome Evenings, events and open evenings</li><li>To ensure that all students in the subject area comply with College’s policies and procedures</li><li>To provide enrichment opportunities that are exciting, motivating and enhance the student experience</li></ul> <br/><br/><strong>Skills, Knowledge and Expertise</strong> <p><strong>Essential Criteria </strong></p> <ul> <li>Educated to Level 5 e.g. Degree or equivalent in Computer Science </li><li> Excellent computer literacy – ability to use the current IT programs of the College</li><li>Proven relevant experience of curriculum planning, development & delivery in IT/Computer Science</li><li>Knowledge and understanding of IT/Computer Science provision.</li><li>Engaged in Continuing Professional Development</li><li>Minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy or willingness to complete </li><li>High level of communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Ability to set high standards for students, colleagues and for themselves</li><li> An ICT qualification</li><li>Good understanding of curriculum development to meet the training needs of employers</li><li>Good understanding of quality assurance and improvement processes</li></ul> <p><strong>Desirable Criteria</strong></p> <ul> <li> A recognised Teaching qualification or vocational experience</li><li> Professional qualification relevant to the subject area</li><li>Experience of resource based learning </li><li>Membership of a relevant professional body </li><li>Experience of assessing students’ needs and planning curriculum for their benefit including Technology Enhanced Learning </li></ul> <br/><br/><strong>Benefits</strong> <p>We really care about our people.
