In this role, you will be responsible for driving forward and embedding our Capability Academies, supporting the growth of critical skills across the organisation by the design and development of appropriate talent frameworks and learning paths, which supports our people to thrive.</p> <p> We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.</p> <p><b> About the role</b></p> <p> The Learning and Development (L&D) Manager will be responsible for delivering career development opportunities for colleagues globally. The main focus will be on early careers pipelines, integrating apprenticeship opportunities, as well as leading on the development of mentoring programs to ensure personalised experiences, via our Capability Academies.</p> <p> There are 3 core areas that this role will focus on this include:</p> <p><b> Team Leadership</b> - Sitting as part of the wider L&D team, you will bring together and lead a small, focused team in line with Cambridge values and leadership competencies.</p> <p><b> Developing our talent</b> - Responsible for effective career development opportunities, framework/product design and delivery, impacting the skills and performance of employees.</p> <p><b> Mentoring</b> - Scope the need for a company-wide mentoring program. Work closely with Learning and Organisational Development Partners, People Business Partners, Academy Leads, and key stakeholders to understand business challenges and the value mentoring adds to employee development.</p> <p> A key responsibility of this role is to manage the apprenticeship levy efficiently, therefore experience in this area is essential to be successful in the role. You will ensure that apprentices have positive learning experiences and that the levy is used strategically, to develop the skills needed to keep Cambridge competitive in the future.</p> <p> Within this role you will work closely with the Head of People Capabilities and key stakeholders to understand critical skills and capability needs, that will help design and develop career and learning pathways.</p> <p><b> About you</b></p> <p> You will have a strong background in L&D, Organisational Development (OD), or with a relevant qualification or significant experience in these fields, along with substantial experience in L&D/OD roles, including project and product management, particularly in learning programs.</p> <p> Knowledge of best practices in learning design and talent development pipelines along with experience in implementing mentoring programs and leading and managing a team to success is essential.
