In joining us, you will be joining a dynamic, welcoming, and creative team of online learning professionals.<br/><br/>We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.<br/><br/><strong>About The Role<br/><br/></strong>You will be working collaboratively with Academics and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver outcomes-driven, pedagogically robust online courses of the highest quality. You will be expected to work to tight deadlines on multiple projects and with a range of stakeholders. The focus of your work will be the scoping, design, development, delivery and evaluation of a portfolio of course outputs that will deliver best-in-class online learning experiences to learners from key demographics, primarily focused on professional audiences and HE institutions.<br/><br/>Key accountabilities will include:<br/><br/><ul> <li>Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructors, and other stakeholders to analyse learning needs and design appropriate learning solutions, reflecting Cambridge quality.</li> <li>Apply learning theories, instructional design principles, and best practices to create learner-centred and outcome-oriented learning experiences.</li> <li>Build rapport with the Academics and contributors during the product definition stage to define, refine and mature course ideas, liaising with Propositions, Marketing and Sales teams as relevant.</li> <li>Co-create course/programme learning maps in collaboration with academic subject matter experts outlining learning outcomes, assessment strategies and learning activities whilst ensuring constructive alignment.</li> <li>Analyse course evaluation reports and make recommendations for improvement.</li> <li>In partnership with the course operations team, support the delivery of each course, including briefing and training of faculty and tutors to ensure that all roles and responsibilities are clearly understood, and providing hands-on support if needed.<br/><br/> </li> </ul> <strong>About You<br/><br/></strong>As our next Learning Designer, you will have previous experience in creating learning journeys and designing online short courses. You can demonstrate sound pedagogical foundation and measurable impact on learning, through a portfolio of high-quality course design outputs.<br/><br/>In addition to this, you need to have:<br/><br/><ul> <li>Qualification and/or a thorough knowledge of online learning design.</li> <li>Knowledge of blended approaches to learning</li> <li>Experience in carrying out learning needs analysis</li> <li>Awareness of accessibility issues and strategies to mitigate these in online learning</li> <li>Good level of knowledge of VLEs (ideally Canvas) and associated tools (LTIs)</li> <li>Empathy with the online learner experience and proven ability to build right level of learner scaffolding into different course formats.</li> <li>Experience working with subject matter experts/academics and cross-functional teams</li> <li>Recognition of the value of the Teaching & Learning expertise that the Learning Designer brings in the co-creation process, especially when engaging with high-profile faculty.</li> <li>Ability to resolve tension and address differences of opinion, and to find ways of creating enriching learning experiences for learners that are considered viable by all stakeholders on the course creation team.</li> <li>Ability to work on multiple projects, often to meet tight deadlines, while maintaining high standards of work and professionalism. <br/><br/> </li> </ul>If you would like to know more about this opportunity and what will make you successful, please see the full job description attached to the bottom of this vacancy on our careers site.<br/><br/><strong>Rewards And Benefits<br/><br/></strong>We will support you to be at your best in work and to live well outside of it.
