We are looking for a part time lecturer for 7.5 hours (one day) per week to come in and teach on our bricklaying and multiskills course. This could be an opportunity for someone currently working in industry looking to get into teaching to gain valuable first hand experience in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
High-Quality Teaching and Learning
Deliver engaging and effective teaching across a range of programmes, catering to diverse learners of all ages and abilities.
Provide comprehensive teaching and assessment opportunities, aligned with awarding body requirements, to support student achievement.
Create and maintain stimulating teaching materials, including handouts, assignments, booklists, assessment papers, and practical models/rigs.
Prepare detailed Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment.
Handle administrative tasks essential for programme success, such as marking, assessing work, and tracking learner progress.
Perform moderation, assessment, and verification duties.
Integrate Functional Skills into the vocational curriculum to enhance student competencies.
Professional Development and Industry Engagement
Cultivate links with industry professionals to enhance our programmes and student opportunities.
Pursue personal research and professional practice to stay current in your specialist area.
Participate in professional development activities as directed by the college or awarding bodies.
Adhere to all college procedures and policies.
Health and Safety
Undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities as appropriate to the role.
Qualifications and Experience:
Relevant qualifications and industry experience in bricklaying and multiskills.
A teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain one) is desirable.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
