About the role
Northumberland college is a dynamic and forward-thinking educational institution dedicated to providing high-quality education and training. To support the on-going development and academic excellence at our Land-Based campus at Kirkley Hall we are seeking a skilled and passionate animal management programme leader. The role requires innovative and outstanding teaching, learning and assessment practices to ensure positive outcomes for learners. The role is aimed at learners working at levels 3-6 so previous experiences of teaching in an HE environment would be desirable.
About the Candidate
Candidates should possess a minimum of a Level 6 qualification in an industry specific subject, and a minimum of GCSE 4/Level 2 in Maths, English and science. The candidate should be a qualified teacher, ideally with vocational assessment qualifications. Experience and a qualification in internal quality assurance processes would be an advantage. Candidates should have previous experience of working with animals in industry settings to support vocational expertise.

Northumberland College is the only college in the county serving, the communities of Northumberland, offering a diverse curriculum offer from Entry level to Level 6, discrete SEND provision and Apprenticeships. We have three campuses from Berwick near the Scottish Border, Ashington and Kirkley Hall, close to Ponteland and in May 2022, Ofsted rated as a Good provider with Outstanding Personal Development, and are the top Performing Land based College in the Northeast. Over recent years, the College has invested over £14million in new facilities at its sites, including a £2.5 million STEM Centre at its Ashington campus and our Ashington campus will be home to the first pathfinder Gen zero FE College in the UK in 2025/2026
