This is an exciting opportunity to join the Social Science, Counselling & Childhood Studies department. We are looking for a hardworking, dedicated, individual to join our team, who is passionate about Counselling and can help to develop this growing area within our department. As a professional Lecturer you will be required to undertake formal scheduled teaching duties such as teaching, tutorials, and student assessment. This post will include teaching on our Counselling courses which currently range from Level 2 to Level 6. It may also include supporting learners through group supervision and one to one support. Building relationships with external counselling settings will also be a key aspect of the role to ensure that the courses remain relevant to the sector, but also to ensure that our learners have links with employers and potential work placements. The successful candidate will hold a Level 4 or degree in Counselling that has enabled the individual to become a practising counsellor. If not already held, to attain a teaching qualification within the College’s timescale. You must be a qualified, accredited counsellor who is (or can be), registered with a Counselling body such as the NCPS or BACP etc. You must have experience as a practising counsellor.
