Summary of the Role: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technician Instructor in Trowel Occupations to join our Construction team at North Lindsey College. This role involves supporting curriculum staff and supervising learners in practical teaching areas. Scope and Purpose of the Role: As a Technician Instructor in Trowel Occupations, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of our curriculum. You will work closely with the Curriculum Lead to ensure learners receive high-quality guidance and support, contributing to their success and progression. Your role will involve both practical instruction and administrative tasks to maintain a safe and effective learning environment.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Support curriculum staff with the supervision of learners in workshops and practical teaching areas.
- Provide pre-course and on-course guidance to learners.
- Plan, prepare, and assess learner activities to meet external body requirements.
- Undertake administrative tasks related to learner attendance, record keeping, and reporting.
- Contribute to curriculum development and evaluation.
- Assist with department marketing and recruitment activities.
- Modify and maintain equipment and resources.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Demonstrate practical techniques to learner groups.
- Support the purchasing of services and supplies for the curriculum area.
Essential Criteria
- Level 1/2 qualification in a relevant subject.
- Recent experience working in the construction industry.
- Experience working in brick, plaster, and paint environments.
- Ability to plan and prepare teaching resources.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with staff and learners.
- Willingness to acquire new skills relevant to the post.
- Ability to lift equipment and materials.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Full UK driving licence.

The LET’s Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
