Are you a specialist in the Vehicle Body and Refinishing industry, and perhaps considering moving into the realms of teaching within your industry specialism? If so, this opportunity for an Associate Lecturer role presents an appropriate initial pathway.
As a professional Associate Lecturer, you will be required to undertake formal scheduled teaching duties such as teaching, tutorials, and student assessment. The role will require the delivery of high-quality lectures, workshops, and practical sessions in vehicle body repair and/or refinishing. This includes the development and update of course materials, lesson plans, and resources to ensure they are current and relevant. An essential part of this role is to provide skills training demonstrating various techniques and use of equipment related to vehicle body repair and/or refinishing. You will participate in the development and review of the curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of the students and employers, whilst meeting the industry standards and requirements.
The role will assess student progress, offering constructive feedback, monitor attendance and support students to achieve their learning objectives whilst fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Working within the Automotive team and wider Technology curriculum team, the role will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive experience across all provision types: Young People, Adults and Apprentices.

The ideal candidate will have Level 3 vocational qualification in Automotive Vehicle Body Repair and /or Refinishing, alongside English and Maths to GCSE grade 4 or equivalent level 2 or above. You must have relevant experience of working in the automotive industry and be a clear, highly motivating communicator with a keen interest in and understanding of student-centred learning.
