Job Summary Exceeding expectations through education, innovation and inspiration… Role Title: Foundation Lecturer Location: Bersham Contract Type: Full time: Permanent Salary: £32,304 - £49,934 (Upper pay range points UP2 and UP3 are subject to evidence of previous progression to Upper Pay Spine) We currently have a vacancy for a Lecturer in Foundation Skills (Construction) to join our team at our Bersham Road site in Wrexham. This role falls within the ‘Foundation Learning’ Directorate at Coleg Cambria, where the successful candidate will teach learners enrolled on School Link, Entry Level, and Level 1 programmes, focusing primarily on Carpentry & Joinery and Plastering Construction trades. Learners in Foundation Learning often have a variety of additional learning needs. Therefore, the ideal candidate must demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting lower-level learners and possess the ability to effectively differentiate their teaching strategies to meet diverse individual needs, ensuring an inclusive and engaging learning environment. The successful candidate will have a breadth of hands-on experience within the carpentry, joinery and basic plastering trades, and be enthusiastic, resilient, and highly motivated. As a lecturer you will perform scheduled teaching, preparation of learning materials, marking of students’ work, liaison with awarding bodies and exam invigilation. You will also provide educational guidance, support and counselling for all students and act as a personal tutor when required. Essential Requirements A minimum of a Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g Cert Ed/PGCE) or be working towards a Level 5 teaching qualification Educated to a minimum Level 3 qualification Awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching Recognises and makes students aware of their strengths and development needs Able to deal promptly and effectively with inappropriate behaviour in the classroom Demonstrate an understanding of current developments within your own specialist area and ways of keeping up to date with such developments Able to prepare effective written and visual teaching materials Knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment Be able to analyse and use key information to inform teaching and learning Able to demonstrate a commitment to and awareness of the importance of Safeguarding Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.
