The Role...
The aim of this role is to develop, mentor, and motivate apprentices to become the digital leaders of the future. Harnessing knowledge the apprentice already possesses and forging this into skills they can apply within the workplace.
The focus is to produce digital leaders of tomorrow, not only mentoring apprentices to a point where they can achieve their End Point Assessment but developing them to become integral members of their wider working team and ultimately positioning them to be the future leaders.
Mentoring and motivating apprentices through a range of physical and virtual workplace visits to ensure they are gathering the best evidence to put into their portfolio of evidence.
We expect all staff to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes great customer service to build a long-standing relationship. The role will include regional travel to meet the needs of our apprentice’s location and business requirements.
The Person...
An enthusiastic mentor with a willingness to get the best out of people. Motivational and passionate about digital marketing, cyber security, software development or IT solutions, who engages learners both physically and virtually from all age ranges
You will know your learners on an individual level to be able to develop and progress their careers. Aiming not only for learners to pass their apprenticeship but to be setting high professional standards. You will act as an inspirational role model for what they can become.
What you can expect in an IT Mentor role at althaus:
- To advise, guide and assist learners through the apprenticeship through the EPA
- Managing a case load of learners across a range of clients
- Offer Functional Skills support as necessary
- Take overall responsibility for each apprentice’s journey, their progression and provide pastoral care
- Improve and update teaching resources to meet developing need
- Adapt mentoring/coaching style to meet the broad range of learning needs, including those with additional learning needs
- Maintain appropriate apprentice progress tracking systems and follow procedures relating to quality, compliance, management, and assessment in line with the Standard and all other regulatory requirements
- Maintain professional knowledge to support in professional development
- To embed British Values, Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety into all programme delivery
- Meet KPIs, including timely completions and effective project submissions
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
- Full, clean driving license with own personal transport
- Team player
- Excellent communicator
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication
- Highly motivated, persuasive, persistent and patient
- Professional, have a mature personality and be able to gain people’s confidence and put them to ease
- Working knowledge of Google Analytics
Desirable Qualifications and Knowledge
- Previous experience of assessing or mentoring in an Apprenticeships or Commercial setting (Digital Marketer Standard, Digital Marketing Framework)
- Relevant Digital Marketing qualification (e.g. Digital Marketing Apprenticeship, Degree in Marketing, CIM Qualification) and relevant occupational competence
- Ability and proven experience of presenting technical training courses
- Mentor/Assessing Qualification (A1/TAQA)
- Previous experience of supporting apprentices through EPA including knowledge of the full gateway process
- Teaching Qualification/PTLLS
- Engaging Delivery Style
- Experience of supporting apprentices remotely via Zoom/Microsoft Teams

This is a hybrid role and will require travel to Derby (East Midlands) for meetings at least 2 days per month.
