In addition, you will be at the forefront of providing high-quality instruction to students resitting their English exams due to government requirements. These students often face significant challenges, and your role will be crucial in helping them overcome barriers, build confidence, and achieve success. It is expected that the postholder will contribute to course design, development of programmes and the expansion of the area generally. To teach GCSE English, functional skills, steppingstones and other level 2 and level 1 English programmes.</p><p><b>Duties</b></p><p>1. To deliver high quality teaching and learning.</p><p>2. To deliver inspirational teaching and access to learning across a range of programmes.</p><p>3. To provide teaching and assessment opportunities in line with the relevant awarding bodies and requirements.</p><p>4. To prepare and adapt teaching materials including assignments, book lists, assessment papers and handbooks to enable all learners to progress.</p><p>5. To prepare schemes of work and schemes of assessment.</p><p>6. To undertake the necessary administrative tasks required for the effective operation of the programmes in this area to carry out moderation, assessment and verification.</p><p>7. To contribute to the college’s quality cycle.</p><p>8. To work with colleagues to integrate functional skills and English into the vocational curriculum.</p><p>9. To interview and assess students ensuring ILP’s are developed for all learners around English.</p><p>10. To undertake 1:1 tutorial responsibility.</p><p>11. To track and review student progress and maintain student records.</p><p>12. Develop industrial links with other professionals within the industry to maintain personal research or professional practice in own specialist area for personal progressional development.</p><p>13. Ensure all work and assignments give learners the opportunity to reach the highest grades and the work admitted is marked in the expected time frames and given incisive and constructive feedback so learners are clear on the areas they need to improve.</p><p>14. Ensure learners are registered and enrolled for each Programme and that achievement claims are timely.</p><p>15. Effective promote and contribute to a culture of safeguarding.</p><p>16. Contribute to the overall quality improvement plans and key performance indicators.</p><p>17. To participate in team meetings, team reviews and evaluation.</p><p>18. To respond to curriculum development and new course initiatives within the faculty and wider college.</p><p>19. To advise and resource requirement for effective implementation of the English programmes.</p><p>20. To liaise with awarding bodies as necessary.</p><p>21. To complete all administrative tasks in a timely manner..</p><p>22. Professional development and industrial links</p><p>23. To attend progress review meetings to engage fully in the appraisal performance review process.</p><p>31. Ensure that continued professional development is current and industry relevant.</p><p>The postholder can be required to carry out any other duties consistent with the grade of the post, at any site on which the College may operate.</p><p>This job description is current at the date shown below.
