Position: Placement Assessor Hours: 30-37.5hrs per week term time over 4 days (with potential to be full time)- 8:30-4:30 Salary: £27,500 (negotiable dependant on qualifications ) The salary will be pro rata based on 45 weeks. Job Description: The Placement Assessor is responsible for assessment and overseeing work placements and experiences for young people on Study Programme, including those with SEND. This role involves liaising with employers, educational provisions and learners to ensure meaningful and supportive work placement opportunities. The Assessor will also provide ongoing support and assessments to ensure the placements meet the needs of the students and facilitate their personal and professional development. Curriculum Intent Work closely with the Study Programme Tutor Team to explore initial and diagnostic assessment results, to plan for an ambitious work placement experience Support learners to understand the expectations of work placements, provide tutorials to enable them to excel in work placements Work closely with the Careers Team to explore and understand the learners career aspirations and EHCP outcomes to be practiced, developed, and improved within the placement Liaise with the Tutor Lead to ensure work placements are sufficient for the learner’s interests and capabilities Curriculum Implementation Support learners to understand what it means to be a learner and the study skills to be developed and adopted Accompany learners on placement to conduct formative and summative assessment Visit learners on placement toconduct holistic assessment by gathering a range of evidence, using agreed assessment methods Be responsible for uploading evidence to the learners E-Portfolio (Learning Assistant) which is mapped to the learning outcomes of RQF Qualifications Work collaboratively with placement providers toestablish progress towards the learners SMART Targets Work with the Tutor Team to contribute to progress reviews at the end of each term to provide evaluative feedback of distance travelled Equipping learners with the abilities to develop their work-ready skills and abilities Supporting learners to become confident and resilient Championing digital skills confidence with young learners Curriculum Impact Learners enjoy their work experience, 95% of learners have high attendance to placement and rate their experience as good or better Contribute to curriculum evaluation at key milestones to measure effectiveness Learners have positive destinations Contribute to quality improvement plans led by the quality team, being accountable for assigned actions Knowledge/Experience Required Good understanding of stakeholder relationships Ability to assess learner needs and provide appropriate support and accommodations. Experience with working with young people in an educational or work placement setting. A good understanding of tutoring/assessing including planning, assessment, feedback, and SMART target setting. Knowledge of Health and Safety, Safeguarding and EDI procedures ·Good administrative, ICT and organisational skills Evidence of relevant and professional development and willingness to continue to learn Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with people at all levels Ability to work with minimum supervision Able to demonstrate flexibility Good team worker The ability to motivate, inspire & support others Remain positive when working under pressure Why Join Us?
